Employee Rights

Age Discrimination

The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) protects employees over the age of 40 from discrimination based on their age. The ADEA applies to employers with 20 or more employees and prohibits such employers from discriminating against a person because of their age with respect to any term, condition, or privilege of employment, including hiring, firing, promotion, layoff, compensation, benefits, job assignments, and training.

If you have been the victim of discrimination because of your age, the attorneys at Maginnis Howard can help. Our firm offers free consultations to employees who believe they have been discriminated against or harassed because of their age.  If you decide to hire our firm, we offer contingency fee arrangements, meaning that you only pay attorneys’ fees if we make a financial recovery on your behalf.
